One of the most prestigious international prizes in the education sector, the Worlddidac Award recognizes innovative and pedagogically valuable products with a great potential to improve learning or teaching. The SMART Board interactive whiteboard won in the category for hardware-based systems, stationary objects, large models, machinery and furniture. Judging criteria included pedagogic value, innovation, ease of use, design, quality, safety, multifunctionality, adaptability, degree of interactivity, eco-friendliness, aesthetics and performance/cost ratio.

Awarded by Presentations magazine to Southern Illinois University for an installation that includes the Sympodium interactive pen display

Lawson Hall of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, received second prize as one of the best facilities of 2003. Lawson Hall uses the Sympodium interactive pen display as part of its award-winning installation.
