2009 Top Training & Simulation Companies Presented by Military Training Technology magazine to SMART for its contribution to military training excellence
SMART has been recognized for the sixth time by Military Training Technology magazine as one of world's top training and simulation companies. The award recognizes the world's best companies that have made a significant impact in advancing military training through technology and innovation. The companies were judged by an impartial panel and selected based on various criteria including total military sales, innovations and program effectiveness. SMART also received the award in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

2009 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence Presented by Tech & Learning magazine for SMART Classroom Suite and SMART Notebook SE
The Tech & Learning Award of Excellence recognizes the best K-12 classroom technology products from 2009. A panel of more than 30 educators, who tested more than 100 entries across the country, chose the winning products. SMART Classroom Suite and SMART Notebook SE were recognized after receiving excellent ratings in the following areas: Quality and Effectiveness, Ease of Use, Creative Use of Computer Technology, Suitability for Use in a School Environment, and Overall Rating.

2009 Teachers' Choice Awards Presented by Learning magazine for SMART Notebook 10
Recognizing content-rich products designed to encourage interactivity in the classroom, SMART Notebook 10 software was awarded in the Education Software category. The Teachers' Choice Awards are held annually and judged entirely by educators who have classroom-tested and recommended each winner. The judges place a high degree of emphasis on quality, instructional value, ease of use, innovation and relevance to the curriculum.

2009 Education Software Review Awards (EDDIES) Presented by The ComputED Gazette for SMART Notebook SE, SMART Notebook Math and SMART Classroom Suite.
The award recognizes innovative and content-rich programs and websites which provide parents and teachers with the technology tools to foster educational excellence. Winners are selected from titles submitted by publishers around the world. SMART Notebook SE won in the Interactive Learning Tool category, SMART Notebook Math won in the Math category, and SMART Classroom Suite was awarded in the Teacher Tools: Classroom Management category. This is the sixth consecutive year SMART has been recognized by the EDDIE Awards.

Buckaroo Award - Best of InfoComm Presented by Pacific Media Associates for the ultra-short-throw UX60 widescreen projector
SMART received a Buckaroo Award for Best of Show at InfoComm 2009 for the ultra-short-throw UX60 widescreen projector integrated with the new SMART Board 685ix interactive whiteboard system. The award recognizes the leading front projector products exhibited at InfoComm 2009. The UX60 was judged on how well it projects images in a broad range of situations.

Comenius EduMedia Signet 2009 Award Presented by the Society for Pedagogy and Information for a German-language CD-ROM and SMART Exchange
SMART has won the prestigious Comenius Award for the fourth time. The Comenius EduMedia Medal was awarded for a German-language CD-ROM designed with elementary school teachers that provides more than 1,500 interactive lessons for use with Notebook software. SMART also received the Comenius EduMedia Seal for the German-language version of SMART Exchange, an online community for educators who use SMART products and want to share tips and success stories on the subject of interactive technology in the classroom. The Comenius Awards are judged by an independent jury of education experts and recognizes the best in multimedia and education technology in Germany and throughout Europe.

Best of FOSE 2009 Presented by Government Computer News (GCN) for SMART Meeting Pro software
The GCN Best of FOSE Awards recognize outstanding and innovative information technology products for government as exhibited during the 2009 FOSE expo in Washington, DC.
SMART Meeting Pro software received the Best of FOSE award in the Software for Desktop Systems category. Winners were chosen based on innovation, usability/applicability to government, relative performance based on specifications, and value. This is the second time SMART Technologies’ has been recognized by GCN. In 2003, SMART received the Best New Technology Award – Display Devices for the Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i interactive whiteboard.
