No, you do not need to uninstall SMART Notebook software. However, it's important to note that SMART Notebook Math Tools is an add-on to SMART Notebook and will replace your version with the latest version of SMART Notebook plus all the new features provided by the SMART Notebook Math Tools installation.
Does SMART Notebook Math Tools software require activation?
Yes, SMART Notebook Math Tools software requires activation. Once you have installed the software, you can begin using the SMART Notebook Math Tools immediately, and you will be given a short grace period before you are required to enter the activation code.
Can I install SMART Notebook Math Tools over a network?
Yes, SMART offers an Install Manager in the Administrator Toolkit that will help network administrators install the software with activation intact and custom options.
Does SMART Notebook Math Tools have take-home privileges?
Yes, each license comes with a take-home license so you can use SMART Notebook Math Tools in class and at home.
When does the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta expire?
The SMART Notebook Math Tools beta can be downloaded until November 30, 2009. If you have the beta installed, it will expire on December 15, 2009.
What happens when the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta ends?
Every time you launch SMART Notebook Math Tools, you will see the amount of time left before the beta ends. At the end of the beta trial, SMART Notebook Math Tools and the SMART Notebook version installed with it will stop working.
If you decide to purchase SMART Notebook Math Tools once the beta has ended, you will not need to uninstall the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta, but you will need to install the full version of SMART Notebook Math Tools that you have purchased, and activate it. This version will automatically replace the beta version.
However, if you decide not to purchase SMART Notebook Math Tools at the end of the beta, you will need to uninstall the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta and reinstall SMART Notebook software.
Can I import a file that has been created in the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta into SMART Notebook?
Yes, SMART Notebook Math Tools is backwards compatible with SMART Notebook. However, any content created using features or tools that are unique to the SMART Notebook Math Tools beta will be imported into SMART Notebook as images that cannot be edited.
