A collaborative learning center
Digital natives naturally gravitate to the table, and the horizontal surface makes it easy and fun for them to collaborate from all sides of the table. Even shy children feel comfortable participating and showing leadership skills when group work happens at the table. Because of its intuitive touch surface and collaborative capabilities, the table also works well for students with special needs.
The SMART Table includes learning applications that require students to work together on a problem and then come to a consensus before giving their answer. The interactive, collaborative nature of the table helps students develop the following skills:
- Cognitive skills – Table activities help students learn to read, write and solve problems
- Social skills – The table helps students learn to communicate and listen to others
- Motor skills – Even students with limited motor skills move objects on the table
